The River of Life course is designed for professional and caregiver adults who work with Aboriginal youth aged 15 to 24.  The course does not teach suicide crisis intervention.  We strongly recommend that you complete a certified course that teaches crisis suicide intervention if you have not already taken one.  The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is one such course.

The Centre for Suicide Prevention strongly recommends that each participant establish a personal support network of at least 3 (three) individuals as described in the Self Care Directions under "Getting Started".  The Centre for Suicide Prevention is NOT a crisis intervention or counselling centre.  CSP is unable to provide personal support to participants taking the course.

The Centre for Suicide Prevention (CSP) makes no representations and assumes no liability or responsibility regarding the information provided in River of Life or contained in any of the printable reference materials.  Further, CSP assumes no liability or responsibility for the actions of the participants arising from or related to any of the material presented in the River of Life, including but not limited to the strategies discussed therein, and in addition (though not in limitation) in respect of those participants who have not taken a suicide intervention training such as the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training program (ASIST).
